The Sustainable Space Explorers! 🌬️⚡
In our fourth Try Five+ workshop, students explored the exciting world of electromagnetism and renewable energy. We built a working wind turbine and discovered how to generate clean electricity from something as simple as a breeze.
We kicked it off with some fun demonstration experiments to introduce the connection between electricity and magnetism, and how wind energy can be transformed into electrical energy using a turbine.
Students then helped each other to design, build, and test their wind turbines, experimenting with different numbers and shapes of blades using multimeters to see how they affect energy output.
There was plenty of creativity, collaboration, and discovery as students adjusted their designs and watched the results come to life! The cute shapes, like a heart or star, can also work well! We’re so proud of them!
