🦾🦾Build a Mechanical Arm

🛰️ How to maintain and repair the space station safely? A mechanical arm can help astronauts complete tasks remotely. In the workshop with 5th class, Try Five+ students became space engineers and explored how to build a mechanical arm! 🤖

First, students explored the lever principle. Using rulers and support points, they built simple levers and experimented with moving loads by applying force at different points. ⚖️Next, we investigated pulley systems. By pulling one end from a distance, students could change the direction of the force to lift up objects 🎯Finally, we explored hydraulic devices — the main mechanism behind today’s engineering challenge. Using syringes connected with tubes, students compared air pressure and liquid pressure. They discovered that liquids are much harder to compress, making them perfect for controlling movement 💧

Then it was time to build! Students worked in groups to build the mechanical arm. By pushing one syringe, students could control the opening and closing of the claw from a distance🤩
