🤖🤖Mars Rover — Explore Coding

How do computers and robots know what to do? It all starts with coding — giving clear instructions step by step! 💻🤖In our last workshop with 5th class, students became young programmers and explored the basics of coding.🚀

We started with a fun activity to understand what coding really means. Students had to “program” the teacher to make a sandwich by giving instructions step by step. 🥪 Next, students moved on to coding with robotic cars. Using coloured coding mats🗂️, they explored how different colours gave different commands to the car. After that, here comes a challenge: guide the car🚓from the starting point, navigate around the large rock obstacles, and return safely to the start. 🪨

What made the activity even more exciting was that every group found different solutions. Students discovered that there was not just one “correct” program — many different coding sequences could successfully complete the task. ✨

For the final challenge, students worked together as a team. We created a start point and finish point, while students took turns placing obstacles⛰️ along the route. Then, by collaborating and problem-solving together, they arranged the coding mats to help the robotic car safely reach the destination. 🤩
