🌟 2025-2026 Women in Space Poster Competition🚀
As part of the Try Five+ project, we were so excited to welcome our talented young STEAMers, teachers, and parents to TU Dublin Grangegorman for this year’s Women in Space Poster Competition Prize-Giving Day! 🌍✨
There are so many incredible women who have helped us explore space and expand the boundaries of science. Sadly, their work wasn’t always noticed as much as it should have been. During Space Week, our 4th & 5th class students did research about these trailblazing women and made brilliant posters to inspire more people. We are thrilled to have 8 schools, 17 classes, 315 pupils joined us on this journey. Work in individuals or groups, they did research about great women from different countries having great achievements in different space career: astronauts, astronomers, physicists, mathematicians, space doctors and nurses… and even singers! 🚀👩🚀
The celebration began with a warm welcome from our Manager Riona Fitzgerald, followed by a short review of the competition. Each winner shared their work, telling us who they researched, what she achieved, and why they chose her — be inspiring, never give up, break gender barrier at their time, share same passion, speak same languages… By showing their stories in the posters, pupils were inspired that anyone can be a scientist or go to space — no matter who they are!💫
After the ceremony, the student enjoyed a campus tour with Ian Roller, including a stop at the Concert Hall, where everyone enjoyed a beautiful harp piece given by our PhD student Fiona Gryson. 🎶 We wrapped up the celebration with snacks, lunch, and plenty of smiles!
Loud applause to our project designer and coordinator Ana Cañizares Bejarano, Zhuoqun Zhang and Qingxiang Yang, and to all the amazing teachers, supportive parents, and brilliant students who made this event so special. 🚀💖 A huge THANK YOU to our funders for supporting Try Five+ and empowering young learners to see themselves in STEAM:
